Music Theory for Children and Parents: Rainbow Minim
What is Minim?
In this post, we will create a Minim. Minim is a rhythm note value in music. It means exactly 2 beats. If you have 2 minims next to each other then, you have to hold/play each for 2 crotchets (one beat), before going to the next one.
Tips
To create the Rainbow Minim we will use Play-Doh, Ribbon and Glitter glue. Make sure you have different colours of play-doh at hand as creating a rainbow out of just one colour would be rather, surprisingly hard. I would recommend making half of the rainbow first out of different colours and then the other one. Once you’re ready you can connect the half to form a full circle.
Keep in mind that the circle is empty. The ribbon then forms the so called Stem. Please remember to include the stem as just the Notehead without the stem is something else. The stem with the empty notehead then forms a Minim.
